The standard tarot size is 2.75 x 4.75 inches and oracle cards do come in this familiar size, however, oracle cards tend to vary widely from tarot which often sticks to traditional standards. More common than not, you’ll find the average oracle deck to be a tad larger than the standard tarot deck. This may prove to be problematic if you have smaller hands (more on that later). Oracle decks may come in a variety of styles and shapes. Some publishers go as far as creating square, circular, and heart-shaped oracle decks. The drawback to these is they can be difficult to shuffle.
If you are looking for a smaller oracle card deck, you’ll want to look for something closer to the standard poker card size. This is 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
If you are looking for a ‘jumbo’ option, you may want to track down a deck with dimensions closer to 3.5″ x 5.75″. This will give you a deck that is a bit larger than the traditional tarot.
If you have smaller hands, you may find it difficult to shuffle larger oracle decks. If this proves true you have a few options. You can opt to only include small oracle decks in your collection or you can try overhand shuffling.
